Nine Maidens - Stone Row

An early Bronze Age Stone Row known as the Nine Maidens.
In folk law , The Nine Maidens and the nearby remains of 'The Fiddler' - Menhir , were nine girls and their musician turned to stone for the unforgivable sin of dancing on a Sabbath day.
106m long with 9 stones of local grey slate. The northern stone is recumbent and broken , 6 stones are standing ranging from 1m to 2.1m high , 1 stone - 1.7m high is leaning - nearly down , another is just a stump 0.8m high . A gorse bush (with a roque stone nearby) has grown to interfere with the view of the alignment.

Location - Mid Cornwall - To the east of the A39 ( south of Wadebridge , north of the birds of prey centre ) , a FP leads to the monument (the ground is often very boggy) . There is a layby 100m to the north.
