Tufa - Stackhouse Cove (S16)

Tufa Deposits can be seen on the cliffs at Stackhouse Cove , some covered with Moss and Algae.
Tufa is soft porous Calcium Carbonate that precipitates out of Calcium rich water by evaporatation .

A fine Vertical Shaft covered with Flowstone ( a precipitate that can form Stalagmites / Stalactites ) , can be found in the deep Cave on the west side of the Cove.
